The Final Post

Nicks Birthday cake. It was heaven. In fact it was sooo rich that there was some left over, this is not easy when there are 20+ people and most have a sweet tooth.

Jennifer...
I only seem to write anything when I am lying in bed with tea! The twins and Britt have been in bed with us having tea so the bed was a bit full! Loving being at the farm again with mountains surrounding one and the river at the end of the path. Life is completely chaotic Bainbridge style and I notice that at various times my family members go off and find a quiet place for a while. We are eating and reading, playing mad family games of badminton or sword fights with the twins. I am loving having my immediate family here and am quite enjoying the fact that my children are old enough to be fairly self sufficient. Watching the cousinly interactions is great fun and seeing Scott be treated as one of the older teenagers is extremely weird! For him too I think! New Years eve tonight and the drinking age youth want to make a foray into Underberg for more spirits to lift their spirits tonight. Bron has some friends coming and we are going to put them in a tent so they can party on without bothering us. We are going to eat Greek lamb and see the new year in until about 9pm! Hope you are all well, Happy New year to all!

A lot of time was spent sitting on the verandah and playing babminton when the light and wind allowed. We even wore out the grass...

Lance got so jealous about the time spent on the Verandah we had to put a "roof" on his Verandah too

A day before we left I caught a tummy bug and only water would stay down. The bad thing about this was the travel was really tough however the good thing is that I now weigh less than when we left. Yeah!
We stayed at a hilarious bed and breakfast in Mauritius, I think the total cost was less than an afternoon tea at Paradise Cove.
Was good to get back to Perth, house, dogs and cat are all in one piece.
Nick wanted "a few mates" to have a drink before he flew at midnight on Friday back to Port Douglas. The only condition was the house had to in the same state after the drinks.....

Nicks concept of a few mates.... I think more than 50 people came though the doors...

Nicks concept of "the same state"

He actually missed his flight as it was at 11:30pm not midnight. However Qantas routed him through Brisbane (surprisingly at no charge) and he got there on Saturday morning.
So thats it, thanks for the interest and posts. Hope all goes well in 2009 for all of you!
